Cellular Simultaneous Recurrent Network (CSRN) is a type of bio-inspired Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) that Simultaneous Recurrent Network (SRN) is laid out in a cellular structure. This structural characteristic allows each SRN or a cell to share its output to the neighboring SRNs (cells).

According to Werbos and Pang (1996), CSRN has some similarity to the hippocampus, a part of brain’s limbic system, and¬† has a potential to solve complex problems that neither feed forward nor Hebbian networks can solve. Several researchers attracted by CSRN’s potential have done some pioneering works.
